Six feet-two inches tall, star athlete, no past relevant medical/surgical history—-5 deferments and bone spurs to the feet, that have since corrected themselves without treatment, and we have an official DRAFT DODGER. Now, I am not here to judge Trump on his draft dodging and MANipulation of the system. I am here to judge him on his public comments against those who did serve.
“He was a war hero because he was captured,” Trump sarcastically told host Frank Luntz during the 2015 Family Leadership Summit. “I like people who weren’t captured.”
How could any veteran, any family that had/has relatives who served, or any person with a good conscience vote for this man? How did he get away with this truly offensive comment? Well, how did he get away with anything in his life—-a self inflated sense of self worth, white privilege, and lack of accountability for everything.
