WHY I AM TAKING A KNEE AND WHY YOU SHOULD TOO

At a rally Friday night, Trump had this to say:

“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners,” wondered the president, “when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, out. He’s fired. He’s fired!’ ” The hypothetical was met with cheers from the assembled crowd (1).

Trump was referring to Colin Kaepernick who during last year’s NFL season took a knee in support of the “Black Lives Matter” movement and as a form of protest, protesting police violence. We probably could have used that moment  and people’s reactions to it, as a way to identify Trumpsters and maybe could have used it as some sort of litmus test to avoid our current state of affairs. There were those who were unable to grasp the significance of the constitutional right to protest.  They focused on what they perceived to be disrespect to America, disrespect to the flag. They could not look past the kneeing to understand the “WHY” part, the significance of the act. People protest to make things better. People protest to fight oppression, hatred, ignorance, fascism, racism, and all forms of social injustice. I never imagined I would see so much protest in my America, but here we are…

Systemic racism is worthy of a protest. Don’t you think? Black lives matter and if you counter with “all lives matter”, then you are part of the problem. Wake up, this requires higher thinking. This requires empathy; putting yourself in someone else’s shoes. Not to mention a good grasp of constitutional rights and basic human decency.

Well, after his divisive speech, he then took to twitter to bully one of the most well liked athletes (at least according to my boys) of the day, Steph Curry. Curry had, I assume, vocalized his hesitancy to visit the White House. It did not take long for our Bully-In-Chief to take to twitter like the petulant child he is.

And just like that Trump started a civil rights movement…

Reactions like LeBron’s and the post below erupted on twitter. Yes, there are Trumpsters who probably will never be able to understand the significance of this protest but if Trump’s goal was to create civil unrest (yes, he is still looking to Brietbart Bannon for counsel and Stepford Stephen Miller is still on staff–both driven by racism so deep that nothing short of a holocaust will stop them), he has succeeded.

Thankfully, there are people who are willing to stand for the right to protest. People who defend the Constitutional right to protest. Are you one of them?

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser had this to say in response to Trump rescinding his invite to Steph Curry:

Do you love your country?

Do you believe in the constitution?

Do you believe all people are created equal?

Well, if so, take a knee.

Take a knee folks, not because you don’t love America but because you do. #RESIST

DOTTY OLD RACIST – TRUMP

If you are a follower of Ms Momocracy on Facebook or Twitter, you know that we are no fans of Trump. In fact, we agree with Hillary and believe him to be a clear and present danger to America–he is CRAZY. Not the “Oh, he must be crazy” as we smile and acknowledge a silly harmless act or behavior, NO, he is the bat-$hit certifiable kind. Many believe he suffers from clinical narcissism, and I am one of them but this week I am seeing signs of senility too.

“Melania really wanted to be here…” Uhm, sir, she is standing right next to you and you just greeted her. How did everyone keep a straight face? Did you know that Alex Jones, that screamer from the fake-news site, Info Wars, has an explanation for Trump’s dotty behavior. He believes Trump is drugged. Yes, you read correctly, DRUGGED, and he happily shares this conspiracy theory with anyone who will listen to him. Does anyone listen to him? How is that man still on air, how is he still relevant? I am sorry to even write about him here but that craziness is too good not to share.

Well, Trump’s dotty behavior got even more press recently. This week after poking the bear, Kim Jong Un, at his UN debut and then engaging in a twitter war with the most dangerous man on the planet, next to Putin, Kim calls Trump a “Mentally Deranged US Dotard” and the world agrees with the North Korean leader en masse (1).

Of course Merrian-Webster had to chime in. They have been successfully trolling Trump since he took office:

Dotard: It is a sign of senility or mental decay; many older people who are scatterbrained and feeble are referred to as dotty. It suits Trump well but it was not Kim Jong Un that first called Trump a dotard. Jon Lovett and the crew of Crooked Media have been calling Trump a “Dotty Old Racist” since he took office.

Trump is a Dotty Old Racist and I can’t believe he is still relevant.

GIVE HIM A CHANCE, THEY SAID

Everyday it is worse, everyday the drama increases, everyday I am embarrassed, shocked and angered.

This week:

    • Trump gives inappropriate speech at Boy Scouts Jamboree, inciting children to boo Obama (who actually was a scout), and talked politics and sex.

    • Trump bullies Sessions via twitter to the extent it FINALLY makes some GOP members uncomfortable.
    • Trump do not call Sessions out because of his ridiculous, racist, unfair policies on drug, maximum sentences, or prison agenda–he calls him out because he ethically recused himself from the Russia investigation.
    • There is not doubt in many minds that Trump’s bullying of Sessions is setting the stage to fire Mueller. Political suicide? Well, nothing else has touched him yet.
    • Anthony Scaramocci replaces Spicer.

  • Trump’s new stooge Scaramocci,  “The Mooch”, calls Ryan Lizza from The New Yorker and gives a crazier interview than Trump gave to the NYT a week ago.
  • You would be hard-pressed to find anyone who does not think he must have been wasted to make such a call.
  • The Mooch claims he thought he was talking “Italian to Italian”. Is that a thing?
  • The Mooch throws Reince Priebus and Brietbart Bannon under the bus big time. He says this of Reince, “Reince is a fucking paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac,” and this of Bannon, “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock,”
  • Anthony claims, “O.K., I’m going to fire every one of them, and then you haven’t protected anybody, so the entire place will be fired over the next two weeks.” I am sure this will create a culture of excellence and loyalty in the White House.
  • The call seemed to be prompted by the belief that Reince leaked public disclosure forms (that are available to ANYONE) and as a result The Mooch tweeted he will be contacting the FBI and Justice Department. Good luck with that, Anthony. Maybe you should contact a good lawyer since your wife just filed for divorce stating your political ambitions and love for Trump are just too much for her.
  • Reince resigns…
  • Trump bans transgenders from military…via tweet and much to the surprise of all military leaders.

——I can’t keep up. Everyday is a $hit Show and it is much, much worse than I ever imagined.

AMERICA DESERVES BETTER

Today is the 4th of July, a day America traditionally celebrates it’s freedom from Great Britain. More importantly, the day we declared independence from oppression. Honestly, I am feeling oppressed lately. As I sit here in my kitchen, drinking my morning coffee, reflecting on the significance of this holiday, I can’t ignore the obvious disconnect I feel this year.

I never really gave much thought to my love for this country before; I took my freedom, my comfort, my privilege for granted. I am first generation here on my mother’s side (my mother came from Scotland as a child) and 2nd generation on my father’s side. My grandparents came over from Scotland after WWII. They came in search of a better life for their two daughters. Coming from this background and being born in the 70s, I was raised on a BIG dose of “Free to Be Your and Me”, you can be and do anything you set your mind to and recognition that education and hard work are the key to success. My family wanted better and they believed the United States would provide the community and home they craved and for the most part, it did, but since Trump decided to run for Presidency, things have changed. There is a shift, a shift towards all the things I was always taught were wrong. It is wrong to lie, it is wrong to promote or be violent, it is wrong to not stand up for others, it is wrong to treat people poorly (or not treat them as you expect to be treated yourself), it is wrong to BE A BAD PERSON.

Today, I wonder what this country holds in store for my own family. What direction is this country heading. It feels like we are moving backward in our agenda and more importantly that agenda is based on fear and hate. I am not comforted by our government leaders. In fact, not a day has gone by since Trump has been elected that I have not been offended, embarrassed or scared. America deserves better. We deserve better, My family deserves better.

I woke today to yet again another ridiculous tweet from our unstable leader. ENOUGH! Trump is mentally unfit and a menace–he must go.

I want a President who loves this country, who loves and RESPECTS ALL it’s citizens, who is dedicated to truly making this country great–not because it is a good slogan but because investing in our country and it’s people will make our country and the world a better place for EVERYONE to live.
