TRUMP DANGER TO NATIONAL SECURITY

Last night my husband and I had one of our many discussions about Trump, the theme is typically, “How did we get here? How was this man elected?” For those who follow Ms. Momocracy you know that I struggle with the idea that so many fellow Americans, friends and neighbors would be willing to overlook Trump’s severe character flaws or that they bought into his campaign rhetoric built on a policy of hate.

“Lock her up”—I have family members who believed that one. In fact, I remember during the early stages of the campaign saying to a family member that I believed Trump could never be elected and their response was that Hillary would be indicted before the election. They truly believed she had done something illegal. The emails! The EMAILS! National Security violations.

Yes, not using a secured server was dumb and should be scrutinized BUT isn’t the bigger issue that Russia hacked these emails with the intention of influencing the US election, discrediting Hillary, and electing their Putin Patsy, Trump. And that Russia planted stories about said emails, to keep the story “hot” so that Americans would buy into their manipulative-calculated scandal. AND stories about the scandal were feed to areas of the country where people were more likely to buy into the conspiracy theory, and more likely to be Trumpsters. Trumpsters, YOU WERE DUPED and the worst thing about the email scandal is that you will still not admit it was a Russian made scandal and you were influenced by it. #FarcicalFoxNews and Trumpsters are still focused on Hillary’s emails, which by the way REVEALED NOTHING.

Trump did more damage in ONE meeting with Lavrov and Kislyak, then the entire Russian Hillary Email scheme.

That meeting was a total $hit show:

  1. The meeting was arranged only after firing Comey the night before
  2. It was rumored to only have been arranged at Putin’s request
  3. Trump banned US press from the room but not the Russian press
  4. Trump divulged classified “CODEWORD” security information; security so sensitive you have to use code words to talk about it
  5. The security leak was a result of a ego brag, “My security is so good, it is the best…”
  6. The security was from an international ally [Israel–Trump later reveals this breach on his visit to Israel]
  7. Trump also bragged [theme emerging] about firing the “Nut Job” Comey and in the same breath provided evidence against himself for obstruction of justice in the FBI investigation into Russian/Trump collusion.

“I just fired the head of the F.B.I. He was crazy, a real nut job,” Mr. Trump said, according to the document, which was read to The New York Times by an American official. “I faced great pressure because of Russia. That’s taken off.”

Still don’t believe he is a threat to national security? Maybe this meeting was just a “bad day” moment or you buy into the fact that as President he can do whatever he wants, that this was not illegal and he is a smart man that would never put the US in harm because of his incompetence….well, if you believe that you must be a die-hard Trumpster and nothing short an earth implosion will likely get you to change your mind.

Trump is on a international tour this week and his security breaches continue. When he meet with Israel this week, he publicly drove home the point that he can’t be trusted. Saying something like this, “I did not say it was Israel who provided the classified information that I then passed on to the Russians, see I can keep a secret.” Do you think Israel is going to share highly classified intel with the US, with Trump, now—if you think so, you just may be a Trump supporter.

Or how about when he brags [yup, the bragging is definitely a problem] to the Philippine President on Wednesday about two nuclear submarines of the coast of North Korea–cover blown, folks.
This man is a danger to himself, a danger to Americans, and a danger to the world.

I TOLD YOU SO

I will admit that there is a strong voice in my head wanting to shout at the top of my lungs: “I TOLD YOU SO!!!” So many of us shared that same pit in our stomachs when we watched the tv on election night and again on Inauguration Day. Contrary to what many Trump supporters claimed, this was never about Clinton losing and Trump winning. This feeling of dread was always about Trump, who he is, what he represents, and the damage we feared he would do to our society and our government. I don’t know a single person who would have felt this way had Kasich, Carson, Bush, Christie, Rubio, Cruz, or any of the others had won. We may not have agreed with them on policy, but none of them brought fear into our hearts the same way that Trump did. We saw the way he encouraged the Alt-Right. We heard the racist things he said. We cringed when we heard him talk about women. We knew who he surrounded himself with and we knew what the cost would be to the things we hold dear: healthcare, the environment, equal rights for ALL, the integrity of our government, and the security of our Democracy. Never before had a U.S. President been met with protests throughout the country. Never have before had so many calls been made to representatives asking them to take action against Trump’s appointments or his actions.

As the news has unfolded the last several weeks, I know many of us have experienced the same twinge to say, “I told you so,” but, if you’re like me, anger and sadness are the overriding emotions. I’m pissed that Trump and his associates and whoever else is involved put our country in this position!! I’m furious to find out that it looks like several prominent Republicans suspected that Russia was involved months before the election and chose to keep it quiet. I’m seeing red over the fact that they continued to support Trump even when the need for an independent counsel became obvious in order to retain Americans’ faith in our system.

But mainly, I think I’m sad. I still can’t believe that this country elected Trump. I can’t believe that someone so heinous sat in the Presidential chair for even one minute. He has tainted the position and brought forth a lot of negativity in this country that I never knew existed to that extent. He made it very apparent that racism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia are still very much a part of our society and that we have a long way to go for equality for all. Trump’s election and Presidency have also made it obvious that wealth and power can easily threaten our democracy and way of life. Our system of checks and balances is not as infallible as we had hoped.

We are ordinary citizens who united to protest against the injustice we saw in the Trump administration. We’re not politicians. We’re not reporters. We are normal, everyday moms from different parts of the country who came together with a common goal: to not be silent; to stand up for what is right; to support one another and whoever we could reach…and we will continue to do so in the coming months. We are thankful for each other and for all of the people “out there” reading our posts. We hope we have given you an outlet for your feelings and helped you feel like you’re not alone in your outrage with this administration.

Stay strong, keep being loud and stand up for what you believe in!!

TRUMP DIVULGES SECRET INTEL TO RUSSIA CLAIMING HE HAS THE ABSOLUTE RIGHT TO DO SO

Trump administration’s vision was to “Make America Great Again (MAGA)”. How? Draining the Swamp, Building a Wall…Locking Her Up—-oh, those are not real policies? Those are just racist, elitist, fascist-propoganda chants. There are many problems with Trump’s MAGA vision, the first being that America was already great, the second is hate based agenda will NEVER make anything great and the third is you would be hard pressed to find a reasonable person who finds anything great about Trump at this point.

For those who saw Trump as he was long ago, none of this is a surprise. The surprise is how long it is taking for everyone else to see this man has severe character flaws that make him ineligible and incompetent to serve in the role of President of the US. If someone shows you they are morally bankrupt, not to be trusted, a liar, a misogynist, a racist, a xenophobe, a poor business man, etc—at some point you have to believe them.

Trump’s latest scandal is the Russia/Comey/Russia debacle. Trump and his administration are under FBI investigation for Russian collusion and Russian interference in the US election process. We know Russia hacked our election process and worked to help get Trump elected but we don’t know what role Trump or any of his cronies played in the process; hence, the FBI investigation.

So last week Trump fired FBI director James Comey. He had his press team publicly state that Comey was fired for his handling of the hacked email issue and that the firing was based on the recommendation of Deputy Attorney General, Rod Rosenstein, who is rumored to have threatened to quit over the whole debacle—-but he did not and is still working there, now he is helping his boss, Dirty Jeff Sessions, find Comey’s replacement. Does it bother them that Sessions was forced to recuse himself from all investigations into TrumpRussia because he himself LIED UNDER OATH during his confirmation hearing? or that Trump originally stated it was Rosenstein’s and Sessions’ recommendation that Comey be fired and Sessions was not supposed to be involved in the TrumpRussia scandal——OR is the bigger $hit Show the fact that Trump came out days later in an interview with Lester Holt and claimed that he knew all along he was going to fire Comey–basically proving his staff to be liars—-or that they are lead by an incompetent buffoon.

Last night the Washington Post broke a story that Trump discussed highly sensitive intel regarding ISIS during his impromptu meeting with Lavrov and Kslyak. Yes, the same meeting that took place the day after Comey’s firing, the same meeting that it was reported the US press was banned from attending, the same meeting that a photo leaked from the Russian team….the stench of all of this is overwhelming.

Trump’s response to the Washington Post’s article about Trump leaking highly classified intel to the Russians….well here is his tweet (yup, we are still talking about his tweets) from this morning:

“President Donald J. Trump said early Tuesday that he had an “absolute right” to share with top Russian officials information about an Islamic State threat during a White House meeting last week. (3)”

The President can declassify intel but at what point does national security become an issue–NOW—the time is NOW. Our President is illegitimate and incompetent. He is working to remove all checks and balances. When will Republicans rise up for their Country and put their Country over their party?

OUR PRESIDENT A BULLY

TRUMP FIRED COMEY-DEMOCRACY IS DYING

Trump fired Comey!

Trump released this statement:

“The F.B.I. is one of our nation’s most cherished and respected institutions and today will mark a new beginning for our crown jewel of law enforcement,” Mr. Trump said in the statement.”

He will likely claim it is because he lied about how classified emails were sent to Anthony Weiner when questioned under oath but this is truly unprecedented and is either the beginning of the end of Trump or the beginning of the end of our Democracy—you must decide what side of history you stand on.

LEGITIMACY OF PRESIDENT

Yesterday, Sally Yates, testified in a Senate hearing. Like Comey, it was understood that Yates would likely not be able to go into detail and divulge what we all so desperately want to hear—that Trump and his admin colluded with the Russian government regarding the US election and Russian sanctions –and that they are guilty of treason. We have to wait for the FBI investigation to conclude before we get that prize.

What we do know:

#1 Russia interfered in our election and Russia helped elect Trump. THIS IS NOT FAKE NEWS!

2. Obama cautioned Trump against hiring Flynn as National Security Advisor. Guess what, he did it anyway.

3. Yates in her role as acting Attorney General met with WH counsel Don McGahn in person on 2 occasions as early as January 26th and spoke with them via a phone call about her concerns with Flynn. She brought an intelligence agent with her to the meetings. They warned the WH that Flynn was compromised, that he had lied to VP Pence and that he was vulnerable to blackmail by the Russians.

“Yates explained that any official publicly repeating the lie that Flynn had not discussed sanctions with Russian ambassador to the US, Sergey Kislyak, was increasing the chance Flynn would be blackmailed.”

3. Yates was fired the day after she publicly declared she would not defend Trump’s travel ban–4 days after she met with the WH counsel regarding Flynn. Flynn was not fired for 18 days, not until the Washington Post published a report of Flynn’s interaction with Russian ambassador Kislyak. One could argue if it were not for the leak, Flynn may still be our national security advisor. I think it is also important to remember that it was first announced that Flynn resigned (he actually submitted a resignation letter) and Trump publicly defended his character after the announcement.

What I hoped would happen during yesterday’s Senate hearing is that Yates and Clapper would shine the light on Russia again and get more Americans to pay attention. Clapper’s opening testimony summarized Russian interference in our election and it is enough for any reasonable person to surmise that the legitimacy of Trump’s Presidency is seriously questionable.

One of the biggest concerns here is why doesn’t the sitting President care that Russia attacked the very fabric of our democracy? or care about their motive for doing so? Why doesn’t he care—-Well, because then Trump would have to admit that he was not fairly elected.

Here is some exerts from Jim Clapper’s testimony:

“..concern about the egregious Russian interference in our election process is so critically serious as to merit focus, hopefully bipartisan focus by the Congress and the American people.

Last year, the intelligence community conducted an exhaustive review of Russian interference into our presidential election process resulting in a special intelligence community assessment or ICA as we call it. I’m here today to provide whatever information I can now as a private citizen on how the intelligence community conducted its analysis, came up with its findings, and communicated them to the Obama administration, to the Trump transition team, to the Congress and in unclassified form to the American public.

…..

As you know, the I.C. was a coordinated product from three agencies; CIA, NSA, and the FBI not all 17 components of the intelligence community. Those three under the aegis of my former office. Following an extensive intelligence reporting about many Russian efforts to collect on and influence the outcome of the presidential election, President Obama asked us to do this in early December and have it completed before the end of his term.

The two dozen or so analysts for this task were hand-picked, seasoned experts from each of the contributing agencies. They were given complete, unfettered mutual access to all sensitive raw intelligence data, and importantly, complete independence to reach their findings. They found that the Russian government pursued a multifaceted influence campaign in the run-up to the election, including aggressive use of cyber capabilities.

The Russians used cyber operations against both political parties, including hacking into servers used by the Democratic National Committee and releasing stolen data to WikiLeaks and other media outlets. Russia also collected on certain Republican Party- affiliated targets, but did not release any Republican-related data. The Intelligence Community Assessment concluded first that President Putin directed and influenced campaign to erode the faith and confidence of the American people in our presidential election process. Second, that he did so to demean Secretary Clinton, and third, that he sought to advantage Mr. Trump. These conclusions were reached based on the richness of the information gathered and analyzed and were thoroughly vetted and then approved by the directors of the three agencies and me.”

Pretty strong opening, especially convincing for the many Americans who still buy into Trump’s fake news claim. Clapper goes on to define “unmasking” for Trump and the other bozos who don’t understand the idea, concept and appropriateness of government officials requesting certain names be unmasked in an effort to do their jobs (see Susan Rice).

Trump’s response:

You don’t understand the concept of gas lighting? Well, this is a great example. Trump claiming you did not hear what you just heard, that you do not see what is so clearly evident, trying to convince you that reality is not real. He is a master at this type of manipulation.

Clapper declared earlier that he was unaware of the FBI investigation and Yates could not comment on collusion—-so the collusion claim is still under investigation…

Clapper ended his opening remarks with a plea:

“I hope the American people recognize the severity of this threat and that we collectively counter it before it further erodes the fabric of our democracy.”

I don’t think Don the Con heard him or cares.

Sally Yates demonstrated pose and intelligence when questioned about the issue at hand, Russia, but Republicans decided to focus on the travel ban, her firing, leaks and Hillary emails.

Here is Yates’ exchange with Cornyn and she is brilliant:

“YATES: I appreciate that, Senator, and let me make one thing clear. It is not purely as a policy matter. In fact, I’ll remember my confirmation hearing. In an exchange that I had with you and others of your colleagues where you specifically asked me in that hearing that if the president asked me to do something that was unlawful or unconstitutional and one of your colleagues said or even just that would reflect poorly on the Department of Justice, would I say no? And I looked at this, I made a determination that I believed that it was unlawful. I also thought that it was inconsistent with principles of the Department of Justice and I said no. And that’s what I promised you I would do and that’s what I did.”

Then there were questions about the leaks. Yes, instead of focusing on Russian interference, Flynn, collusion, etc—–Gassley jumped right into leaks and guess what, under oath both Clapper and Yates stated they were not involved in leaking confidential information. It appeared as if Gassley did not care about what was leaked only how—-he definitely does not have his priorities straight.

Cruz, equally as ignorant, jumps into Hillary’s emails but when he questioned Yates about the legality of her actions regarding the travel ban, he got schooled.

We may not know whether Trump and his cronies colluded with Russia—-YET–but we do know that this election was a sham. Why isn’t EVERYONE questioning the legitimacy of this president?

HEALTHCARE GAME EVERYONE LOSES

Yesterday the House Republicans passed the new version of Trumpcare which was even worse then the original version Ryan pushed back in March. The new version was created to please House Freedom Caucus members which means the bill needed to be more devastating to the American people. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) had reported back in March that the AHCA would eventually exclude 24 million Americans from healthcare, reduce Medicaid services and drive up deductibles. What did the CBO say about the newly revised plan? NOTHING! It has not even been assessed yet. Would you spend millions on a project without it being assessed or vetted? Would you purchase ANYTHING without knowing the COST? Well the House Republicans did.

Paul Ryan and the other Republican Douchebags celebrated yesterday after voting….Why? Because they are providing better, improved affordable care for all Americans??? NO! They celebrated because they finally did it–they repealed Obamacare. That was their only goal. Not to make the Affordable Health Care Act better or to help Americans—their goal was to smite Obama and it did not matter if anyone else went down in the process–in this case the entire American population. The House Republicans won…

Who is opposed to the American Health Care Act (AHCA) besides MILLIONS of Americans, many who are and hopefully now, were, Trump supporters—every healthcare organization, that’s who:

I know this bill is unlikely to pass the more reasonable-Freedom Caucus-Free-Senate but…

I also believed that a reality TV personality with poor business sense and severe character flaws would never be elected President

or

that House Republicans would never commit political suicide over repealing healthcare without a viable or better alternative…..so I am not sure I can depend on anything anymore.

#29 THINGS I HATE ABOUT TRUMP: RELIGIOUS FREEDOM = LICENSE TO DISCRIMINATE

Your right to RELIGIOUS FREEDOM is not your LICENSE TO DISCRIMINATE based on religion. There is a very distinct difference.

Trump is expected to sign an executive order tomorrow granting “Federal Religious Freedom.” This is a move, no doubt, pushed by Bible Thumping Pence and other Republican religious zealots that cannot grasp the difference between church and state. I wonder if this was the deal Trump and Pence made. After all, why would anyone stick with Trump this long without something on the agenda, that is unless, Pence’s endgame is waiting for Trump’s inevitable impeachment so that he can take the reigns. If that is the case, Pence is much smarter than I gave him credit for.

Back in March of 2015, Pence introduced similar legislation in his state of Indiana. Pence and other legislators wanted to give for-profit companies the same free exercise rights that churches received. It sounded crazy and bigoted even then, but this was after the Supreme Court had ruled in favor of Hobby Lobby, a decision that gave corporate employers the legal right to not provide contraceptive coverage to their employees. Pence and Indiana suffered badly in the press; this was a poorly veiled attempt at discrimination. This was a bad business move for Indiana and they are still suffering the consequences of their bigotry. Yet, Pence, well he is now the Vice President and maybe one day the President, if he waits longs enough.

How is Pence’s version of religious freedom different then the pre-civil rights movement where businesses could choose not to serve blacks or segregate to other doorways, other bathrooms/water fountains, other seats on the bus….well, that my folks is the problem—IT IS NOT DIFFERENT. It is still discrimination but now it is wrapped up in a religious freedom bow. Not very Christian like and not the message the Pope puts forth. Now that man, the Pope, he is a leader. His message of inclusion, acceptance, tolerance, and love should be an example to all—but especially those who cling to the Bible as if it were real.

Back in February information was leaked about a “religious freedom” bill. It was rumored then that Ivanka and Jared were able to talk Trump out of signing the bill, recognizing it could be political suicide—-yes, immigration ban, grabbing pussy, treason suspicions, and basic incompetence were not political suicide–but this…I will take it– if this is what the public can get behind in mass, then LET’S ROLL, people.

Politico reported yesterday that Trump has invited conservative leaders to the WH tomorrow, Thursday May 4th, to sign an executive order that promotes religious liberty, allowing businesses and individuals to discriminate based on their religious beliefs. It is expected that these broad religious objections now permitted at a Federal level will specifically target the LGBTQ community.

We are truly headed backwards here, folks. #RESIST

#28 THINGS I HATE ABOUT TRUMP: HE IS NOT OK

I am growing weary of hating Trump, it is exhausting. Every day—-EVERY DAY—since the heyday of his campaign and continuing through his Presidency, not a day has gone by where he or his administration has not done or said something offensive, ridiculous or just plain untrue. I have had ENOUGH. The constant #Resistance is taking its toll. Don’t worry, I am not the “give-up” or quitting type and I am certainly not going to give in and allow Trumpism to normalize more than it already has.

We must stay vigilant and continue to draw attention to his bad behavior. I wish more people would call him out on his “crazy” though; it is beyond arrogance and narcissism. Mika and Joe questioned his sanity this morning and I hope more people begin to do the same.

‘I’m not sure he’s OK’: MSNBC’s Joe and Mika… by sarahburris

It is frightening to catch glimpses of exactly how much he does not know:

  • Recent comments about how hard being a President is and he did not realize it would be, especially compared to his previous life–of a reality TV personality.
  • Comments that healthcare is complicated-who knew?
  • Recent comments about pre-existing conditions and putting new healthcare legislation to a vote this week–which was news to house republicans. I feel stressed out just trying to keep track of all the awful, crazy stuff he does. I imagine the WH staff and legislators must be downing loads of Zantac or Xanax.
  • Inviting the President of the Philippines, Duterte, well known dictator, murderer and a just plain evil guy to the WH; he seems to be friends with all the best dictators. Maybe Putin, Duterte and al-Assad will join him for a round of golf in Bedminster.
  • Claiming Andrew Jackson could have stopped the Civil War. Jackson died 16 years before the Civil War–he did not have the gift of being able to predict the future–he was not a good guy with a big heart (he owned slaves and lots of them) who wanted equal rights for all.

Trump’s attempt at a recovery. Nope, you still look like an idiot.
  • As he ponders why more people do not wonder why we even had a Civil War, the rest of the world grows increasingly concerned that is incompetence is based more on stupidity and less on arrogance than we thought.
  • This list of what he does not know is infinite….

Trump’s interview with John Dickerson of CBS’s Face the Nation was just as painful, incoherent and unintelligent as his interviews with NYT, Washington Post and the AP. Here is a clip where he “guarantees” (in quotes because we may witness Conway Kelly, Spicy Spicer or other Trump cronies trying to spin this into an alternative fact or another example of, “you did not really believe what the President said” game) that pre-existing conditions will remain in the healthcare bill even though EVERYONE knows that in order to appeal to the House Freedom Caucus (the crazy Tea Partiers) that Ryan made a deal with the devil to further degrade the proposed healthcare bill, to screw more Americans. The new bill stipulates that states get to decide if they charge everyone the same regardless of pre-existing conditions.

I think John Dickerson deserves a nice spa day after having to talk to this bozo. “Let me just explain something”…listening to this drivel is enough to make anyone want to poke their own eye out.

I hope Trump’s state of NY is one that approves pre-existing conditions because he will have a hard time proving he was not always afflicted.

He ends his interview with John on one last crazy note. John questions Trump’s relationship with Obama and it went over probably just like you would have imagined it would. Trump repeats, “You saw what happened with surveillance” and John is forced to ask him what he means since the wiretapping claim has been proven to be a LIE–over and over again.

When asked if he stands by his claim that Obama was “sick and bad”, Trump states, “I don’t stand by anything” before he rudely and petulantly walks away….Yup, sounds about right.
