CONTACTING YOUR CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVES–IT IS THAT EASY

Reasons you don’t want to call your representatives:

You don’t want to bother them. Your elected officials in Washington are there to represent you; your interests, your opinions, your wishes–you elected them and you pay their salary and it is a pretty big salary.

The compensation for most Senators, Representatives, Delegates, and the Resident Commissioner from Puerto Rico is $174,000 [1].

You don’t have the time. It takes less than 5 minutes to call your Senator or House Representatives.

You don’t know who your representatives are.

Find your House Representatives HERE, just type your zip code in the search bar.

Find your Senator HERE, just use the search function at the top of the page.

You don’t know how to reach them. Use the links above to find your representatives. Their contact information will be available on those sites. You can email them, but rumor has it phone calls are more effective. Each call must get logged and recorded.

Why don’t you try it out? Call you House and Senate Representatives and let them know that you oppose the AHCA/TRUMPCARE. Please.

That was easy. Now, do you want to get in touch with the White House? Call Trump directly and tell him how you feel about his policies. Well, the call may not directly go to Trump but your call and message will be on the record—or you could just tweet at him but you will run the risk of being blocked by him on twitter. You know how thin skinned he is. You can think of getting blocked on twitter by the President of the US as a badge of the #RESISTANCE

WE AREN’T STUPID–AHCA IS CRUEL!

Why don’t we have any good information on the Senate’s Healthcare legislation? Why have no hearings been held? Why hasn’t a copy of the bill been publicly released? Why have no experts been invited to weigh in? Why are 13 MALE Senate Republicans negotiating behind closed doors? Why is nothing being discussed openly with transparency? One Senate Republican said it best, “We aren’t stupid.”

Well my friend, neither are we.

Please call the Senate switchboard and let them know that EVERYONE wants good affordable healthcare, 202.224.3121

HEALTHCARE GAME EVERYONE LOSES

Yesterday the House Republicans passed the new version of Trumpcare which was even worse then the original version Ryan pushed back in March. The new version was created to please House Freedom Caucus members which means the bill needed to be more devastating to the American people. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) had reported back in March that the AHCA would eventually exclude 24 million Americans from healthcare, reduce Medicaid services and drive up deductibles. What did the CBO say about the newly revised plan? NOTHING! It has not even been assessed yet. Would you spend millions on a project without it being assessed or vetted? Would you purchase ANYTHING without knowing the COST? Well the House Republicans did.

Paul Ryan and the other Republican Douchebags celebrated yesterday after voting….Why? Because they are providing better, improved affordable care for all Americans??? NO! They celebrated because they finally did it–they repealed Obamacare. That was their only goal. Not to make the Affordable Health Care Act better or to help Americans—their goal was to smite Obama and it did not matter if anyone else went down in the process–in this case the entire American population. The House Republicans won…

Who is opposed to the American Health Care Act (AHCA) besides MILLIONS of Americans, many who are and hopefully now, were, Trump supporters—every healthcare organization, that’s who:

I know this bill is unlikely to pass the more reasonable-Freedom Caucus-Free-Senate but…

I also believed that a reality TV personality with poor business sense and severe character flaws would never be elected President

or

that House Republicans would never commit political suicide over repealing healthcare without a viable or better alternative…..so I am not sure I can depend on anything anymore.

SHEROES & HEROES: JON OSSOFF AKA #JONSOLO

Today’s Hero is Jon Ossoff who is running for the open Georgia House seat left vacant by Health and Human Services Secretary, Tom Price.  Constituents of the 6th district in GA will vote on April 18th and there is a chance that Democrats may be able to flip the traditionally red district. Jon has gained nationwide support as Trump and his administrations’ popularity continues to dramatically fall.

Jon is a 30 year old Georgetown graduate who has raised record breaking campaign funds. Yes, he is young but I think we are ready for change.

The Republicans are working hard to keep Jon out of office. Here is an attack ad they are running.

The ad is certainly not high-tech but instead of making Jon look like a drunk frat boy, the clips are endearing and only highlight the normalcy of a college experience. The release of the attack ad sparked the creation and rise of the #JONSOLO hashtag.

Will Trump hate propel Jon into office? God, I hope so.

Today’s Resistance hero is #JONSOLO – may the force be with you, Jon.
